Carol Thom is the President and founder of the Thom Group. Carol is a well known advisor in the community, who has been an advisor for 25 years.
Carol has been qualified for several production excellence awards throughout the years; including her recent award which honored her as a circle of excellence advisor and the Representative Advisory Council with First Allied Securities. The Circle of Excellence (COE) is First Allied’s premiere group of advisors chosen based on leadership, client service, and production.
Carol is currently active with the San Luis Chamber of Commerce, as well as with CASA and ALTRUSA.
Carol lives in SLO with her husband Neil, and has three very spoiled cats.
Neil is the Vice President of the Thom group and has been a member of our community for 35 years as an investment advisor for 25 years.
Neil is a former U.S. Marine who served his country proudly in Vietnam 1967 – 1968 receiving the Navy commendation medal with valor.
Formerly a board member for Mission College Prep, Cal Poly Mustang Booster Club and Babe Ruth for the city of San Luis Obispo.
Neil is currently a member of the Chamber of Commerce, San Luis Obispo Country Club and Caballeros de San Luis Obispo.
Living in San Luis Obispo with his wife Carol, they love to ski, golf, hunt, fish and hike.
Stacey is an Investment Advisor specializing in Investment Planning and Life /Health Insurance services. She has been with the Thom Group since 2001 and has over 13 years total experience in the financial services industry.
Stacey has a long history of being active in the local community. She was a member of Rotary Day Break of San Luis Obispo where she served on the 2007-2009 Board Of Directors, and also acted as the 2007-2009 Youth Services Director for the Rotary Interact Club in conjunction with San Luis Obispo High School. She also served on the Board of Directors for the San Luis Obispo Women’s Shelter Program as their Treasurer and Advertising Committee Chair from 2008 to 2012. Stacey has also served as Head Coach for the girls varsity volleyball team at San Luis Obispo High School.
In addition, Stacey was also named a 2007 Tribune “Top 20 Under 40” Award recipient. This award is given to the top 20 business professionals under the age of 40 in SLO County, who demonstrate excellence in their field and community.
Stacey graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
She holds a Series 7, Series 63, and Series 66, as well as her California Insurance License.
Stacey has wonderful husband and a beautiful daughter.
Peter Giannini is a recent addition to The Thom Group. He has made an excellent addition to the firm since coming aboard in 2007. Peter comes with strong local ties and was born and raised on the central coast.
Peter has spent the past five years in the financial services industry here on the central coast. He Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cal Poly in 2001, where he studied business administration with a concentration in finance.
Peter and his wife Christy have two adorable daughters.
Latisha has been with the Thom Group since 2001. She has lived here on the central coast since she was 3 years old, except for the 5 years she lived in San Francisco while she earned a degree in International Relations at San Francisco State University.
She moved back home to live her passion, Her arabian horses. The horses have now become secondary as her passion has changed to her new family. She was married July 7, 2006 to her husband, Troy Pryor, and since then has had an incredible little boy, Dillon Cole Pryor, born July 14, 2007.
Karen “Kar” Durham joined the Thom group December 2008. She previously worked as office manager for a local Life insurance broker/dealer for 8 years.
She enjoys camping, swimming, billiards and gardening.
She and her husband, Glen, moved to the Central Coast 13 years ago. They have raised 3 daughters, the eldest Sila, now 25, lives in Seattle, WA and the twins Shannon and Melissa, now 19, are attending a local junior college.
